Jimin With Pink Hair And Phone

It’s that time of year again! Your bias group is making a comeback, and you are so EXCITED, but definitely not ready for all the epic-ness that is about to destroy what’s left of your sanity the moment the new music video is dropped. While I can’t help you with your world-shattering feels, I can certainly help you express your love and appreciation for all the blood, sweat, and tears your bias group put into creating their comeback tracks through this guide to mass streaming music videos!

Streaming on YouTube is a fun way for international fans of all things Hallyu to show their support for their bias group. Effective mass streaming can also help your idols by bringing international attention and recognition to your bias group’s comeback, which ultimately attracts even more fans into your fandom family! Thus, here are some step-by-step guides and helpful tips for mass streaming your favorite new music videos.

**NOTE** The tips for this guide come from fan-collected knowledge and research, as well as my own personal experience mass streaming music videos. It’s important to note that there are no officially announced rules on how YouTube evaluates views. As such, there are multiple opinions and interpretations on the correct way to mass stream music videos. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you want to make sure YouTube doesn’t think your views are the work of a bot/spam. This will slow down the view count process and possibly delete all of your hard work!

Method for Mass Streaming with Immediate Results (Short-Term):

This guide is to help you mass stream music videos within a short window of time for immediate results. For instance, achieving the most views within 24 hours, reaching 10 million views in record time, etc. Streaming in this way can become quite complicated, but once you get the hang of it, you will be helping your idol group and fandom with breaking YouTube in no time!

Here are step-by-step instructions on immediate, short-term streaming:

  1. Search for the music video you want to stream
  2. Watch until the very end (OPTIONAL: Like the video, leave relevant comments, and share on social media)
  3. Logout of your account
  4. Clear browser cookies, history and/or change IP address (requires VPN)
  5. Close the tab
  6. Open a new tab
  7. Search for the target music video
  8. Watch until the very end
  9. Search for a different music video—you need to wait around five minutes before watching your target music video again, so choose a couple of additional music videos from among your favorites at random to increase their views as well!
  10. Watch until the very end
  11. Clear browser cookies, history and/or change IP address every so often (a recommended estimate is every 30 minutes, but I tend to clear cookies around every 15 minutes)
  12. Close the tab
  13. Open a new tab and repeat steps 6-12

Helpful tips and reminders:

  • Watch the music video on the official channel. This is usually the entertainment company’s or idol group’s official channel. If you are unsure of which channel’s music video to stream, you can always ask in the comments!
  • Make sure to logout of your account while mass streaming.
  • Turn autoplay off.
  • Watch the music video in HD or at least 480p.
  • Set volume to 50% or more on YouTube. You can mute the volume on your computer, but make sure the volume on the music video is more than 50%.
  • Be sure to randomly change up the order of the music videos you are streaming so that you are not repeating the same loop and have your views mistaken as spam
  • DO NOT stream in multiple tabs/windows of the same browser at the same time. YouTube tracks your IP address and will count your views as spam. However, you can stream from multiple different browsers at the same time. For example, you can be streaming from Chrome, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox simultaneously.
  • DO NOT refresh the page.
  • DO NOT replay the video.
  • DO NOT click on suggested videos. Make sure to search for the video each time.
  • DO NOT skip ads.
  • DO NOT pause, skip, or touch the music video in any way. Let it stream from the beginning until the very end.
  • DO NOT spam the comments. They will be deleted.
  • Keep in mind that if a mass streaming does occur, and views start to increase at an exponential rate, YouTube will freeze the views. This is inevitable, so remember to be  patient and keep streaming! The views will start increasing again once YouTube filters through the spam. The more fans stream correctly, the faster YouTube will be able to evaluate the legitimate views and the faster you can support your idol with a skyrocketing view count!

Method for Continuous Mass Streaming (Long-Term):

This guide is to help you mass stream music videos when you are working towards a long-term goal. The best way to do this is to create a playlist and have it continuously playing throughout the day. This is also an option if you are too busy to stream the target music video repeatedly or need to sleep (friends, please remember to sleep!). Playlists are not recommended for immediate, short-term streaming because it takes longer for YouTube to count the views from playlists.

Here are step-by-step instructions on continuous, long-term streaming:

  1. Create a playlist on YouTube with your target music video, plus 2-3 other videos
  2. Set playlist to loop and shuffle
  3. Logout and stream playlist
  4. Clear cookies and/or change IP address every so often (requires VPN)

Helpful tips and reminders:

  • Many fans may have already created playlists specifically for streaming, so try searching for a playlist first if you don’t want to go through the trouble of making one
  • If you are creating your own playlist, remember you can add the same music video multiple times. Here is a simple example of organizing your streaming playlist:
    • (8) Music video #1 – target for streaming
    • (4) Music video #2
    • (4) Music video #3
      • MV1 – MV2 – MV1 – MV3 – MV2 – MV1 – MV3 – MV1 – MV2 – MV1 – MV3 – MV1 – MV2 – MV1 – MV3 – MV1
  • Same rules for HD quality, volume, ads, pausing/skipping, and multiple browsers apply

THE MOST IMPORTANT METHOD:

  • Bond with your fandom in the comments section, greet new fans, share your fangirl experiences, and remember why you decided to join the fandom in the first place—the incredible idols and loving fans!
  • Try to remain loyal to your bias amidst all the new bias wreckers. Seriously, with everyone looking so good for the comeback with their new hairstyles and showcasing their awesome skills in the new tracks, I wish you luck!
  • Enjoy the music video! Sit back and revel in the heart-stopping vocals, jaw-dropping choreography, soul-wrenching lyrics, head-banging beat, and there’s-no-way-these-people-are-human visuals! Keep in mind that an incredible amount of work from not only your idols, but also directors, cameramen, writers, producers, choreographers, and more went into making the masterpiece you are witnessing before you, so don’t forget to just watch the epicness and have fun!
  • DO NOT die. Remember, your idols and fandom need you to survive, at least until the next comeback!
